Review of Winter Passing (2006) by Wei Zhen F — 23 Sep 2007
Very different kind of movie, Will Ferrell was quite enjoyable to watch in this although I don't understand why when he attempts the "serious" role in a movie he seems to play a semi retarded character.
Kind of a melancholic movie with a disappointing ending but that's not to say that there is nothing to make this movie worth watching. It's a character driven film with such interesting people that you want to keep watching to see what becomes of them.
There is also a subtle humour here that I liked. It's no surprise this indie film went straight to DVD in Australia but if you like slow intense character driven movies this one is worth checking out.
