Review of Winter Passing (2006) by Catie C — 25 Dec 2007
Uneven movie that when it wanted to was quite good, but when it dragged it was quite painful. I think that Zoey Deschanel is a wonderful actress and did a great job of bringing angst and pain to her character and Will Ferrell was cute and Ed Harris was good but.
I felt that the pace of the movie was too slow and parts of the story felt a bit rushed...like what was wrong with the mother, with the father... I suppose after seeing the trailer I was expecting something altogether different.
The kitten scene at the pier was just unexcusable, I don't care what the character was going through. Overall a fairly good movie that had its moments of insight but never really took off for me. Somewhat of a disappointment unfortunately.
