Review of Winter Passing (2006) by Louis E — 28 Jun 2009
I think the day will come when Indie films will get the acclaim they deserve. Honestly, I am a fan of Indie films as despite all the restrictions they have on the aspects of making a film, they rely on the story and the characterisation more than anything else.
One such example is this film. The story is pretty endearing. And what makes this work is the honesty of all the actors towards their characters. I have always thought Zooey is one of the most underrated actresses of our generation.
This film proves she has what it takes to be more than just an actress. Ed Harris cannt go wrong anytime. Gives a superb performance as the troubled soul in search of a ray of hope. Will Farrell is one of those actors who in recent years has become very one dimensional.
But this is the type of film which shows the other Will Farrell and he is quite great actually. Amelia Warner does not have much screen space. but she does good when ever she comes. Overall, I think people who like light hearted drama should watch this.
and this has made it to my all time fav list. Cheers :).
