Decent execution around a nice character study. too disjointed, too inconsistent. will ferrell is a cheap laugh, zooey's character is too raw to be taken as charming(though zooey herself is) or as the seriously damaged child.
great players, but lacking in a foundation. the scene with the cat on the dock ? really tore me up. after that, it was at times touching and failing at being the serious drama and the black comedy it wanted to be.
