Review of Winter Kills (1979) by Stephen C — 30 Nov 2010
A cult movie if ever there was one this 1979 gem has elements of The Parallax View ,3 days of the Condor and other classics.
Jeff Bridges plays the brother of a murdered president who uncovers the murky circumstances behind his death.
Sound Familiar? Well the film is based on a Book by Prizzis honor writer Richard Condon and as a thriller its hard to beat.
Bridges is on top form as he uncovers the past ,But its John Huston who steals the show as Bridges Father .
He is simply having great fun as the head of the family .
Thats not to say the rest of the cast is poor in fact you get Eli Wallach,Richard Boone,Torisho Mifune,Sterling Hayden and a oily Anthony Perkins as a sinister fixer.
With a cast like that you expect quality and you get it in spades .
Do your self a favour and seek out this film.
Oh and keep an eye out for the mystery guest star.
