Review of Winning (1969) by Magnus W — 14 Jan 2008

After having watched this I have to say I am surprised how this movie is constructed. This movie is more a love drama then racing action. The racing scenes are a bit to much environment or disjoint to provide much race nerve.

Maybe the largest racing fan benefit of this movie is the behind the scenes feeling of a Indy 500. The love/family story is also no master piece, a bit hard to get a feeling for the characters motivation.

The kid Charley and Frank is probably the ones that works best, even if over the top in some scenes.
