Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by Hunter S — 17 Aug 2014
This modern 'Winnie the Pooh' breathes nostalgia for me because I am one of many people who loved growing up watching 'The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.' I love thinking about blustery days, tut-tut it looks like rain, Tigger, etc.
What this 2011 version does so well is that it is short and sweet, but it manages to replicate the charm of what made the classic so beloved. The warm narration, setting in books, honey, honey, honey, nice songs, and memorable characters.
Added is the fact that Zooey Deschanel provides her smooth voice to some of the classic tunes, which is very tasteful. This film also establishes Jim Cummings as one of the best voice-over talents of all-time.
Enjoy this journey in the Hundred Acre Wood.
