Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by Ben F — 06 Aug 2011
Pooh bear might live for sweet and sticky honey, but his new movie is smooth, bouncy, and clean. Our favorite bear gets caught up in a quest for Eeyore's missing tail and also seeks to save Christopher Robin from the clutches of a mysterious creature. Along the way we're treated to a variety of hilarious sights, most especially Tigger dressed in a floppy wig and wearing tomatoes in lieu of boxing gloves.
It's a crazy adventure to solve what turn out to be fairly normal problems, and the rewards of the journey are small and satisfying. "Are you happy, Eeyore?" Pooh asks the always grumpy donkey after he is reunited with his tail. "No," his friend answers, "But I sure do like this new tail.".
Sometimes, that's enough.
