Review of Winnie (2017) by Florence O — 27 Jun 2017
This movie is compellingly revealing of a typical patriarchal culture that most African women can identify with. Many non-africans cannot begin to understand why she would not have spoken up until now.
The producer did justice to the documentary as depicted in the level of real-life footage showcased and interviews documented. Winnie's voice was heard and not portrayed as a saint but a woman caught in a web.
There will always be another angle focused on in subsequent movies. I was pleased with the production and facts.
