Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Codie E — 27 Mar 2009
At times a beautiful and hypnotic look at the joys of life, human interaction and our every day musings, but it does stray occasionally into enigmatic and pretentious twaddle. I also have a problem when the film shows its age.
With the black and white cinematography the film achieves a brilliant sense of timelessness that is irritatingly shattered with some of the fashions and the inclusion of the Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds concert.
A very good film that could have been great.
