Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Michael Y — 04 Apr 2009
This film took me several repeated viewings to get through the whole movie, due to its very slow pace. But, there is an excellent story with good performances and probably among the best cinematography I have seen in a motion picture in the past twenty years, especially the b/w sequences.
The cinematography aids the progression of the plot and is highly symbolic in itself. It is also a time capsule of Berlin prior to German reunification and the modern reconstructed Berlin one sees today.
