Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Matt B — 06 Dec 2009
Great film about fallen angels who can hear our thoughts, fears and dreams, until one falls in love with a woman and contemplates being mortal. The dialogue consists mostly of the thoughts of random people and the main characters, and it is often very poetic.
Many times the dialogue reflected thoughts I have had in my own life about life, love, loneliness and desires. It is also a wonderful look at life in Berlin just before the wall fell, and it covers the history of the city and the issues it faced after WWII.
Visually stunning and very well acted and directed.
