Remade as CITY OF ANGELS in English, and if you've seen that one, it doesn't compare to the profound celebration of life and sober meditations on mortality found in Wenders' mostly black & white classic (not to mention the ending is completely different and much more fitting!).
Terrific supporting performance (mostly in English) by Peter Falk.
