Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Ossi T — 20 Sep 2010
A beautifully poetic film about an angel who is tired of always watching us humans and wants to be able to live as a human himself and ends up falling in love with a trapeze artist. What more would expect from a movie made by Wim Wenders starring the awesome German actor Bruno Ganz and Peter Falk as himself and photographed by the cinematographer of Jean Cocteau's amazingly beautiful adaptation of Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et La Bête), Henri Alékan in both b&w and color, for scenes in the pov of the angels and humans, respectively.
There's also a cameo by the always awesome Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Name me a movie that has anything to do with Nick Cave and isn't good. A great moody piece of filmmaking. 10/10.
