Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Johnathon W — 09 Jul 2011
Wim Wenders cinematic masterpiece, thanks to brilliant use of Berlin (which was still split in half due to the Cold War) and the black & white and color cinematography, which distinguishes between the angel & human perspectives.
The cast is superb as well, with American audiences naturally gravitating towards the late, great Peter Falk, who plays himself but with a surprising twist at the end. Ultimately, this movie is a love letter to not only movies but life itself, in all its extraordinary & mundane details.
A classic.
