Review of Wings of Desire (1987) by Andhika B — 30 Dec 2009
One of the most pretentious pieces of work I've ever seen. Right up there with Garden State. Throughout the first hour or so, nothing really happens. We just see the angels listening to humans' thoughts, and Bruno Ganz becomes particularly interested in a specific girl.
And the speech that girl makes at the end of the movie? Good grief lady, you're not the only lonely person in the world. The rating does get a half star boost for having Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds playing From Her To Eternity though.
