Review of Wine Country (2019) by Boidiva02 — 22 May 2019
A cast with this many seasons performers really should be able to create a film much funnier than this one. While the film does have its moments, particularly related to Paula Pell and Rachael Dratch's characters the overall feeling is of a movie that seems a bit rushed, and lacks nuance. I would have liked to see the characters developed more beyond the standard tropes they were given and wanted to see more urgency in the problems they were facing. Few of the one-liners really stuck and the movie seemed to gloss over the many layers they could have given these long-term friendships.
A good effort, but it could have been better.
