Review of Windtalkers (2002) by Alex R — 24 Jul 2010
John Woo's epic war story. Windtalkers is an incredible story from start to finish. Packed to the brim with pulse-pounding battle scenes and non stop action. Touching, daring, and intense film making, John Woo is an action movie genius.
Windtalkers is the story of the Battle of Saipan in Japan during World War 2. Marines were given orders to befriend and protect Navajo code talkers at all costs. A task that required incredible courage and involved many complications, both ethically and morally. Nicolas Cage and Adam Beach give powerhouse performances, as well as appearances by Mark Ruffalo, Noah Emmerich, and Christian Slater.
