Not unforgivably bad, but pretty mediocre nonetheless. watch this movie strictly as an action movie, because at its roots, that's all it is. the movie is filled with unrealistic shootouts, dumbed down dialogue, and an unromantic romance.
and overall, it just feels hokey. I do give it points for its opening though, I thought it had a very eerie, unpredictable feel to it. I wouldn't begin to compare this film to other WWII movies such as Saving Private Ryan and The Thin Red Line, because it pales in comparison.
