Review of Wind River (2017) by Tom L — 01 Nov 2017
I have, basically, two factors that I take into consideration when deciding how to review a movie.
The first is emotions. Wind River made me feel a wide array of emotions. Jeremy Renner's remarkable ability to become a salt of the earth, straight shooting, all around "good guy" is inspiring. You know immediately as soon as he finds the body of the young girl that he had a relationship or deep connection of some sort with her when she was alive. The supporting cast all have strong performances but I am now convinced Jeremy Renner is one of the great actors of this generation.
The second is how I feel the day after I watch the movie. Some movies (see my review of "Jigsaw") I watch and after I leave the theater I never think about again. It has been at least a month since I saw Wind River and I remember the feelings it conjured up in like me it was yesterday.
I highly recommend this film for just about everyone. Its one of my favorite movies of the year.
