Review of Wind River (2017) by Justin P — 28 Dec 2017
Wind River is a haunting western in the snow. It's a straight-forward story that has superb acting and writing throughout. There's no twists here, but that doesn't necessarily matter. While the music is serviceable and the cinematography looks nice, the direction feels pretty standard - and probably would've fared a lot better had this been helmed by a more experienced person at the helm.
Again, these are minor nitpicks to an otherwise really solid movie - and one of my favorites from this year.
