Review of Wind River (2017) by William C — 01 Apr 2018
While I still hold to the view that Taylor Sheridan's best script so far is Hell or High Water, this is still a superior story that not only consists of multiple layers but uses implication to allow the viewers to fill them in.
This time out, Sheridan also directs and displays a high level of skill there; the film had a look akin to Sam Raimi's Simple Plan (only at a higher altitude). The cast is solid, including a number of veterans as well as some interesting newcomers.
Wind River offers a view on some of the brutalities of life forcing one to question which one creates more difficulty: nature or mankind.
