Review of Wind River (2017) by Tommy M — 04 Sep 2017
The movie was fine but the story was all too familiar. The setting & cinematography was beautiful, but writing felt lazy & cliched. The most disappointing part of the film was the ending. It felt very rushed & it wasn't much of a reveal.
Very anticlimactic film. Also, what was the point of the FBI agent ? She literally did nothing to move the story forward. Literally the film could've been the same without that character. I like the first time director Taylor Sheridan (writer of Sicario, Hell or High Water) & I hope he keeps writing to master his craft.
I just hope he's not moving in the wrong direction.
