Review of Wind River (2017) by Acacia — 29 Aug 2017

This is an excellent movie. Well acted, well directed, even the scenery plays a great part. Jeremy Renner's character Cory Lambert is a Fish and Wildlife hunter looking for a mountain lion who is killing livestock.

While way up in the backcountry on his snow mobile, he discovers the body of a Native American girl. He knows this girl because she was a friend of his daughter's. Elizabeth Olsen plays the FBI agent called in to work the case.

Being from Ft. Lauderdale, she is completely lut of her element and doesn't even have the proper clothes for this harsh environment. She asks Cory to help her track down Natalie's killer. The movie focuses on the hunt for the killer and unfolds from there.

Many excellent Native American actors are given the opportunity to shine in this movie. Graham Greene as the reservation sheriff, is always great. I especially loved the actor who plays Natalie's father.
