Review of Wind River (2017) by Nandan T — 20 Nov 2017
When was the last time you've had high expectations about a film and it lived up to the hype. I only saw a handful of good films this year and 'Wind River' was one of them.
I recognized Taylor Sheridan immediately as the writer of 'Sicario' and 'Hell or High Water', the latter being nominated for multiple Oscars last year including Best Picture.
So, I was very excited and glad to see that the film delivered. This was a brilliantly written, shot and acted film. Taylor Sheridan did an excellent job as a debutante director. Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen have excellent chemistry perhaps because they've worked together in the past in the Avengers films. The snow-clad hills and the town looks wonderful.
People might not like the direction that the film progresses and the fact that this was based on a true story sends chills down my spine.
Give this a try if you enjoy a good murder mystery and a good drama.
