This film starts out looking like it's going to be a 'boy stalks girl' film when two students share a ride home for Christmas and it turns out he has planned everything just to get her alone. However, this is actually a ghost story, which you find out after their car is run off the road by a car which left no tracks. That short cut through the woods, which always looks so appealing in these films, is in fact haunted by a psychotic policeman who killed people there when he was alive and is still collecting victims now he's dead.

The majority of the film is based around the two students and the relationship which develops between them. Both actors play their parts, and carry the film, very well. The ghosts don't do quite so well, since they are not in the least bit scary but don't let that put you off.

The ending lets it down a little bit as it gets into a tangle of flashbacks of the 'Are they dead? Are they alive? Are they ghosts? Did they ever exist?' variety but you do get the answers by the end.

I enjoyed this a lot more than 'I Am Legend' but this will never get the sort of publicity surrounding that, so this film will go nowhere but if you want something which doesn't rely on big names, special effects and the willingness of the public to spend money on something just because they are told to, then you could do a lot worse than spend an hour and a half watching this.
