Excellent haunting mystery. Not truly the Horror movie that some believe it is supposed to be. This is more of a Ghost story of true origins back in the year 1906. Sarah Winchester is only doing what the spirits are telling her to do and that is to build and to continue adding to the Winchester Mansion.
The doctor, sent there to access Sarah Winchesters state of mind in order for her to hold on to her half of the estate, is himself caught up with the spirits that haunt the place and one in general that possesses her small nephew.
Along with excellent acting and cinematography, this is a classic ghost story where the audience must go in with an open and alert mind. This is not a movie where a potential critic goes in feeling tired and drained of energy.
Listen to the dialogue and follow closely. It does have its spooky and jumpy moments.
