I almost cut off the movie in the beginning & gave up on the moderately desperate lawyer who gave into temptation and took money without trying to fulfill his obligations to his client. But something told me not to give up on him fully, but to give him a 2nd chance.

And that is what this movie is about, the people who deserve a 2nd chance (versus the people who have long exhausted their chances). And both the kid and the viewer come to see this.....So Tom, give this movie a 2nd chance.
