Review of Wimbledon (2004) by Ross T — 22 Apr 2008
Much as I love Bettany, this just doesn't work. You don't 'feel' it between him and Dunst, the consequences of losing don't seem all that awful (driving around in a flash motor, a swish Brighton pad and working for Robert Lindsay, oh woe is me) and ultimately it feels by the numbers. It even manages to offset the inclusion of the great Favreau by jamming in a bit of McAvoy being a git.
Fluffed!
It works better as a sports movie, but unfortunately it's not one.
Still love.
Bettany though, and he was in the DaVinci Code.
