Review of Wimbledon (2004) by Marcus W — 06 Jul 2008
A British romantic comedy centred around tennis. All my least favourite things in one place and yet this film manages to work thanks to the believable chemistry between the two leads - not to mention some great and original character work from Bettany's character especially.
It does still slip in places - McAvoy is irritating, and it's hard to get excited about tennis, but it's far better than it has any right to be.
