Review of Wilson (2017) by John H — 24 Mar 2017
People and critics may have a hard swallowing this dark comedy due to its barbs, but if you allow it to linger just a bit more than you are comfortable. It transforms into a raw unfiltered look at a anti-hero with some real questions about life; on topics like love affairs, friendships, relationships, change, societal progress, and life's purpose.
The acting was real with Harleson being the ideal choice for a sometimes lovable and often hateable Anti-hero. A great entire cast with a few surprises. The writing is well manicured and the movie feels longer than it is on intention, to allow for character and relationship development.
The movie Wilson gave me some serious feels. Depictions of predictable human behavior that results in a lot of audience emotion. I laughed a lot, shed a few tears, felt angry and shocked a couple times, and felt sad and happy.
This movie is entirely all to relatable, if you can swallow its bitter pill.
