Review of Willy's Wonderland (2021) by Umaumai — 01 Apr 2021

I don’t think that this movie has enough in it to raise it up hire then the simple, low budget horror film that it is. In many ways it sands out while having a lot of the tropes you find in it brethren, but sometimes it seemed like they didn’t want to go the extra mile.

There is a lot of wash, rinse and repeat with what happened on screen throughout its run time. I will say that I really love the premise. They almost pull it off. If I had one complaint it would be that the person playing the lead female was probably the weakest part of the film.

She narrates a few parts and they where like fingers on a chalkboard for me as well as for the people watching with me. We couldn’t wait for her to stop talking. Not all of her acting was bad, just her delivery when having a monologue or soliloquy.

You can tell the care and detail of the “mechanical” characters took a good portion of the budget which is why I kind of wish the movie had a less predictable ending. All in all if you want a pretty fun horror film with a moderate amount of gore you can’t go wrong with this title.
