Review of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) by Jess L — 06 Feb 2013
Classic with a capital C. Gene Wilder is perfection in this role, he seems to be made for it. This fantasy land comes to life in this screen adaptation of Dahl's classic children's book. I love the dark elements that creep into this film, unlike in the remake, such as the boat ride and Wonka's unsettling chanting/singing/recital, creepy and amazing.
