I have no memory of seeing this movie as a kid. I read the book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" though. I happened to stumble across this one recently and sat back and watched. I set aside the outdated special effects and just enjoyed it for what it was and is.
..a great family movie. I can't believe it took me this long to see it. Maybe I'll review Johnny Depp's version in 20 years.
