Review of Wild Wild West (1999) by Kevin S — 27 Aug 2013

This is setback in the west which I believe was 1869 and Ulysses S. Grant was president which he was a good man. All the inventors start disappearing and inventor himself and U.S. Marshall Artemus Gordon is on the case so is special government agent Jim west who is fast with his gun.

Having their differences between gadget and gun Jim west and Artemus gordon team up thanks to president Grant to find out who is behind this. They find out its the legless dr. Arliss loveless who builds this huge steel tarantula and wants to disunite the United States.

Will smith teams up again with men in black director Barry sonnenfeld in this effects filled shoot em up western. Will smith was really enjoyable here tag teamed with Kevin Kline. They both pack quite a punch with their humor.

Salma Hayek is an adventuress is who is joined along to help find her relative who was one of the inventors who are held captive. She adds a little sexiness to it. Kenneth Branagh plays the evil mastermind Loveless and did a good job as the villain.

Ted Levine is one of Loveless henchmen and I always enjoyed him as a villain. It's pretty much you typical western bravado but more updated and loaded with special effects. It's not perfect but still humorous and plenty of fun to watch.
