Review of Wild Wild West (1999) by Pascal V — 27 Dec 2012
Plenty of well known actors here, but unfortunately still a very disappointing film. Will Smith is the man in black again, only this time with a cowboy-hat.
There is a point being made about slavery, racism in general, and the myth of the great white cowboy, which earns this film some credits. I have nothing else positive to report. There are about two reasonably good jokes in Wild Wild West, the gadgets are nice, but we've all seen better, much better.
A very predictable film, and a waste of some talented actors. And when is Will Smith finally going to play a character with the slightest degree of depth, instead of his usual two-dimensional hero stuff (it's starting to annoy me).
