Review of Wild Things (1998) by Scott — 13 Jul 2008
Great crime thriller.Matt Dillon plays a high school counselor accused of rape by the local rich girl and her class mate who lives in a trailer on the edge of town. When a local detective looks into the case he slowly begins to uncover a web of sex, lies, greed and betrayal, all seemingly put together by all three suspects to scam the rich girl's mother out of millions of dollars and move out of Florida.
The twists just keep coming in this film; once you think that's it,another twist comes along and they're all suprisingly good!At times it feels a little over the top but thats part of it's charm,it doesn't take itself to seriously and throws in the twists and turns when you least expect it.
And yes, this film is famous for one particular scene involving Dillon,Denise Richards and Neve Campbell but that scene isn't the only good thing about this film!A great performance by Bill Murray in a small role as Dillons lawyer and decent enough turns from everyone, including Richards,Campbell and Kevin Bacon as the shady detective make this a fun, sexy but engaging thriller.
