Review of Wild Target (2010) by Pang Y — 07 Nov 2010
Wild Target is a film about an aging assassin who's next hit turns out to be a little more complicated than he planned. The assassin is played by Nighy who is perfect in this role. Excellent comic timing on his part really adds to the film.
Blunt is the girl he's hired to kill and she is brilliant as the kooky thief who is annoying but loveable. She and Nighy are a great pairing and play off each other so well. Grint's character gets dragged along for the ride and again, he is also superb.
The plot goes along nicely with great humour and set pieces well executed. If anything the film suffers with a lack of structure in places which doesn't detract but does break up the flow. Otherwise a great British film (even though it was based on a French one!).
