Review of Wild Target (2010) by Felis D — 12 Apr 2011
The tone reminded me somewhat of "Keeping Mum" - something about the blithe attitude towards immorality, perhaps, as well as the quiet humour.
However, while the film was enjoyable with some geniunely funny moments (the third act, in particular), there were a few things that could have been improved. Rupert Grint's character, Tony, seemed a little tacked on and undeveloped. It would have been nice to see more of the bonding between Victor and Tony.
Also, the clarity of each character's motivations were wildly inconsistent through the movie. Sometimes you totally understood what Victor was doing and why, and other times, you felt completely at sea as to why he is making the choices he made.
I'd be interested to see the original French film to see how this one measures up as a Brit remake...
