Review of Wild Tales (2014) by Graham K — 02 Apr 2015
There can simply be no greater film, for what it is. Utter perfection. I never wanted it to end. One of the most entertaining films ever made. See for yourself. Damian Szifron is the next big thing. How this film didn't win the Oscar for Best Foreign Film is a mystery, when it should have been nominated for Best Picture, period.
There is not one dull moment. The greatest star, in my opinion, is the superb soundtrack. Not to be missed on the big screen. Who would have thought that such a great film would come from Argentina. The acting is extraordinary.
The stories mind-blowingly effective and powerful. A work of genius, if there ever was one. Bravo to all involved. This should have been a HUGE hit in the US, but for some reason it didn't get the attention it deserves.
But who cares. I've never seen anything quite like it. The road rage scene is one of the greatest sequences ever created and put on film. But all five main stories are riveting beyond all expectation.
