Review of Wild Tales (2014) by Jeanne Z — 09 Sep 2015
Feels very influenced by Almodovar, the movie has his sort of energy. I must say I'm not a big fan of anthology films (also not a fan of reading short stories, though I love reading books), but Wild Tales is one of the very rare ones that I thought was really good.
One of the major reasons most anthology films don't work for me is that most of the time, even if there's a few good sequences, there's usually one or two weaker stories that are there to just pad the time.
Wild Tales luckily isn't like that, while one or two of the stories may feel "lesser" than the others, they are still good on their own and because of either runtime or subject they just may feel a little slighter.
