Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Amanda C — 26 Mar 2011
This is a masterpiece of a film. Bergman draws heavily on the French Surrealists in the dream sequences to create vivid and confusing imagery. The performances are fine tuned and subtle, which with the use of closeups that abstract the mise-en-scene create an incredibly lyrical film.
While I've only seen a handful of Swdish films, I have yet to see one that I don't love.
