Ingmar Bergman is truly one of the finest directors of his time. He wields one of the most beautiful visual styles ever committed to film and this film features a warm, humane atmosphere uncommon in arthouse cinema.
I love the way in which Bergman depicts the connection between memory and place in a way that is original and inspired.
