First off, I have to admit to this right now, I'm a sucker for art films about old people. There's something strangely intriguing about old men reflecting on their life. Ikiru, Umberto D, and Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries are a few of the films that fit the description but all are completely different but all terrific. I can't seem to pinpoint the exact reason I have this admiration, but I'll figure it out someday.

With Wild Strawberries, I was immediately taken with the visual style of Bergman. I'd already seen a handful of Bergman's works by this point, and the cinematography drew me in as much as, if not more so, than the others did. With as brilliant and great a filmmaker as Ingmar Bergman was, this picture belonged just as much to Victor Sjostrom. There's not one negative thing I could say about this film...
