Review of Wild Hogs (2007) by Hm A — 18 Nov 2009
Very bad. The plot is really over the top, but worst of all it is just plain unfunny. As far as the performances go, this is the picture: Tim Allen is o.k., John Travolta is just kind of...there, I did not really care for Martin Lawrence, William H.
Macy does well as a really pathetic guy but sometimes comes off as too pathetic, and Ray Liotta overacts and treats his role as being more serious than it really is. The only person who really made me laugh was John C.
McGinley in a brief cameo, but even his character was a little too weird. I think the diverse cast underscores one of the reasons why this film did not turn out well: all of these actors have different styles of acting, and is extremely difficult, though not impossible, to try and put them on the screen at the same time and create chemistry with one another.
Even if they did do this, however, it still would have suffered from the terrible writing. Either way, I do not recommend this movie.
