Review of Wild Hogs (2007) by Seth Y — 17 Mar 2013
With a cast that features Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy and the great Ray Liotta, you would expect "Wild Hogs" to be a fantastic film. Unfortunately, it is absolutely terrible.
When a group of middle-aged friends become bored with their daily lives, they decide to hop on their motorcycles and head out on a cross-country road trip without any plans. As you could easily predict, everything goes wrong and the group finds themselves in some pretty serious trouble with a real biker-gang.
The concept here is nothing special, but with an all-star cast like this you think it would at least be decent. The script is absolutely horrendous, featuring a variety of flat jokes and downright cringe-worthy moments. Throughout the hour and 40 minutes, I literally chuckled only one time. Martin Lawrence and Ray Liotta are the only bright spots here, while John Travolta is completely excruciating to watch. I've seen a lot of awful films and I can easily say this is right up there with the worst. There is honestly nothing rewarding about this movie and it should be avoided like the plague. 1 star.
