Review of Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (1991) by Natalie S — 23 Jan 2008
This movie is very, very interesting and constantly engaging. Wild Hearts is based on the true story of a girl who overcame a hard life during the 1930's Great Depression, an uncertain life after running away from home, then a tragic loss that threatened to end her much-loved career. Gabrielle Anwar is a tiny bit overly-dramatic at times as the willful Sonora Webster, but portrays emotion well. Michael Shoeffling as the repressed but caring Al Carver puts out a remarkable performance that is really moving.
Some would say Wild Hearts is just another romantic early '90's teen drama, but it's definitely one I could watch again and again.
