Review of Wild Card (2015) by John D — 01 Feb 2015
Ok, first of all, I love Jason Statham as an action star. And every Statham Fest is entertaining to me. This one hits the spot, yet this is short, like its a part of some TV show's episode. Expected to be a B-grade, yet not bad action flick.
The story is more like the protagonist, struggles to move on like he was on a bad sh*t in the past. He is a paid personal bodyguard. He loves to gamble, and like, he feels it is more competitive to gamble whatever it takes.
Till then again, he kicks more ass. I was rather disappointed that, my satisfaction goes low cause the pacing sucks in this. Like I need more action and stop more nonsense dialogue. But still, the fighting scenes are awesome.
Well choreograph, bone crunching "Statham like" martial arts moves and I enjoyed every single scene of it. Love the fighting scenes, story and execution is expected to be B-grade as usual, the most important thing is, Jason Statham is still a bad ass.
This is not "Oscar like" film for god's sake. This is a guilty pleasure flick at its best.3/5.
