I really missed something on this film didnt I. But usually when a mobster has a hit contract on a guy there is usually an attempt on his life, and willem dafoe's "attempt" does not count.
I felt like that was a cheap plot line to keep the movie in progress. But who knows, it could take a second viewing to fully wrap my head around it.
