Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Matt G — 26 Feb 2009
Just Lynch being Lynch. The sex scenes get pretty repetitive for me at times, as well as the roaring fire symbol. Cage gives a pretty tolerable performance (besides a few hilarious outbursts) and Dern is great as usual.
The things that work best for me are a few individual scenes (car accident, opening scene, bit with Crispin Glover), and I know this is not the worst Lynch can do. Once you find the right way to tolerate his films (which, for me at least, is overlooking the search for "meaning"), you enable yourself to see his true talents.
